Concert stuff
On this page are photos and stuff from The concerts and The bands that I believe
portray a strength in their faith ... a ministry that takes risks because they love Jesus
Christ.

The PS show was a great mix of rock & hip hop. Makes being a Jesus Freak extra sweet.

God gave us so much in His Son, Jesus Christ: a life worth living today. This life is not just a test for eternal membership in some heavenly club med... it's about living an amplified life lifting up His name, spreading the Word far and wide, and basking in God's warm countenance. That's life ............!

Trey from EDS
Family Force 5 was a riot. Check out the huge fists. These guys put on a great show, but I never understood the skinny dude in the cheap sunglasses and the MJ mask.

Decipher Down
At the Avenue on 4/4/08 we saw Decipher Down, Thousand Foot Krutch and Skillet. I had a lot of bounce from the lighting, but did get a few good ones. Adam also got a few from what I could see. I'm learning and will try again on the 6th at Cedarville University ...

alright ... TFK
alright ... TFK
at the Avenue in Tipp City, OH
Skillet was hard and rough, but used a cello for the string layer that was as surprising as it was beautiful. The girls did a fab job on bass and drums. I thought the guitar player looked sorta like a Victorian era throwback ... like Dr. Jekyll, maybe.

Managed, barely, to
get some decent pics
of Trevor. Adam and
I were smashed
against the wall to
the right of stage.
I couldn't resist some more of the
TFK pics. I am admittedly nuts
about this band. The lead singer
has a terrific stage presence. The
word of the day is: Atmosphere.
These EDS pics are from the first Illumination Festival in September 2007. Praise God for such a great time and for so many sweet Christian people.

Revive December Radio Sanctus Real Third Day
|
It was a beautiful evening on
a beautiful campus in
Cedarville, Ohio.
The worship center was
comfy and there was not a
bad seat in the house. I
recommend it cause you
don't have to stand for hours
except to get in.
Neat Aussie band. Great opener for the concert

James 1:13-16
No one undergoing
a trial should say, “I
am being tempted
by God.” For God is
not tempted by evil,
and he Himself
doesn’t tempt
anyone. But each
person is tempted
when he is drawn
away and enticed by
his own evil
desires. Then after
desire has
conceived, it gives
birth to sin, and
when sin is fully
grown, it gives birth
to death. Don’t be
deceived, my dearly
loved brothers.
This doesn’t just apply to sex, but to drugs, alcohol, work,
accumulation of wealth, gambling, porno, internet gaming,
chats, and any number of other scenarios where the tail has
begun to wag the dog. Don’t kid yourself … this lust for life
can wind up being an end in itself, which for all intents and
purposes, is classic idol worship. (Meditation wk16 2008)
Isaiah 65:2-3 I have
spread out My
hands all the day
long to a rebellious
people, who walk in
a way that is not
good, after their
own thoughts – a
people who
provoke Me to My
face continually,
sacrificing [to idols]
in gardens and
burning incense
upon bricks
[instead of at God’s
prescribed altar] …
(B47;pg 651)
One of the best
comebacks I have
ever heard is
perfectly suited to
our response (as
sinners) after
reading this
passage: “I
resemble that
statement.”
Do you resemble
that statement?
Does it describe
your lifestyle?
Sadly, as hard as I
try it fits me like a
second skin.
If you knew God
was there, He was
all-powerful, and
you had seen His
handiwork … why
would you
knowingly provoke
Him? Is it a natural
human tendency to
see what we can
get away with? I
have this image of a
curious, if not
rebellious, child
with a stick poking
an animal until it
gets mad enough to
strike.
To this day the
name of God is
misused by
believers and
unbelievers alike.
The name of His
Son is used in vain
and to swear
falsely. If not for
God’s blessing we
would be destroyed
by the power of the
very One we
abuse. But he is
slow to anger. That
is a very good thing.
from Rebellious
People by Rev. Sean

Our freedom to believe is predicated
on the notion that God trusts us with
that knowledge; so as Christ
reminds us in Matthew, wisdom is
justified by her children ... or in
everyday language ... consequences
speak for themselves. No one
legislates this right, nor do our
founding documents suggest that we
should confuse our faith with the
selecton of secular leadership.
Remember: God is in control!

Note of interest:
I have been informed that the
Avenue at Ginghamsburg Church
in Tipp City is no longer hosting
concerts like the ones shown here.
My understanding is that the
revenue loss is greater than any
gain at this time. We, at the
Illumination Festival, are aware of
this issue as it is a struggle to
maintain ticket prices that are
affordable for bands that are worth
seeing in a decent venue.
I hope they resume at some point.
