Well, this is what raincoats look like at a festival
in an amphitheater.  It got really nice later, but
we had our bouts with rain every day.

God has been very
good to Rebecca
and me as we
count the days
and months that
unemployment
has resided with
us like a silent
guest with a bad
attitude ... one we
didn't invite, but
cannot pry out of
our lives by any
act of shear will
power, interviews,
or even prayers of
petition.

Time takes the
time God takes.

We are not
ungrateful for the
experience, but
will not be
unhappy when it
departs from us.

We understand
that God, through
His Son Jesus
Christ,  does not
suggest that our
life's road will be
free of dust or
sharp stones, but
that our comfort
will be increased
and our burdens
lightened if we
invite Him along.

(His yoke is light).

And so we have
done just that ...
and we extend our
hand to Him each
day ... or at least
most days.  We are
not perfect people,
but we believe in
His perfect will
and His perfect act
of grace (our
salvation).

That is the prize
and why we run
headlong toward
the finish line!

Praise Him!

I was really blessed
at this concert
series, even though
there were long
hours, soaking rain
and a few interesting
encounters.

I was in section 4 row
EE which was at the
left-hand side ... so
the photos, for the
most part, show that
vantage point.

Last year I was in
section 12 on the
other side.  Maybe I
should mix it up a
little?

I asked if I could get
out of my seat and
take a few shots
(which was a
mistake) but was told
I could not due to
emergency planning.

In the pouring rain I
was tapped on the
shoulder (I had taken
the liberty of
standing in the aisle
... hmmmmm ... to
get a better pic of
Fireflight) and told
that I could not use
flash.  This was news
to me, and made
photos from this
distance problematic,
especially in the low
light and the rain.
But because this was
main security, and I
didn't want to get
thrown out, I vowed
to contact the King's
Island group before
next year's program
for better access.

I met some really
cool people.  The
names I recall are
Grant & Tara, who
sat beside me & are
from Lexington, KY,
Paul who prayed
over me, and who
was from Windsor,
Ontario, of all places,
and Jason, I believe,
who is a young dude
from the area just
beginning his stint in
youth ministry.

God plans really well,
and He continues to
remind me of that
when I begin to get
messed up in my
own planning
exercises.
