OK, see the lady taking the picture ... she is the one who threatened to call security because I was in "her space." at the show. Not a nice individual, and very territorial, for sure.

Huey sounded good and reprised his hits with the fun accorded to sing-alongs that you can actually understand.

The sparrow in my garage
This should be, more appropriately,
“the dead sparrow in my garage.”
Matthew 10:29-31 "Aren't two
sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not
one of them falls to the ground without
your Father's consent (sometimes
translated as without your Father’s
knowledge).
But even the hairs of your head have
all been counted.
Don't be afraid therefore; you are
worth more than many sparrows."
Psalm 84:3 Even a sparrow finds a
home, and a swallow, a nest for herself
where she places her young--near
Your altars, LORD of Hosts, my King
and my God. (eSword Holman c.2005)
We are safe in His care and we are
always in His presence. But I digress.
Let me explain …
I opened the garage door after having
been away for a couple of days, and
there inside the door was a dead
sparrow on the floor. It must not have
been very long since it had died, from
what I could tell, as there was little odor
and very few flies. The first thing that
hit me (in addition to the obvious) was
the knowledge that God was also
aware that this little being had passed.
He was aware of it and He made sure
that I found it. I needed the worship
experience.
I was also painfully aware that no one
but God and I knew this had happened
… or even cared. It was humbling to
be a person of unique consequence to
the Creator of all things.
Millions of times a day human beings
make their way through their daily
routines, make unremarkable contact
with others, and are forgotten … or so
they think.
We all fade from the sight of our
brothers and our sisters, but never
from God. He watches us as we wake
up, as we go about our daily tasks,
and then as we lie down to sleep. He
takes a genuine interest in each
individual, in each stumbling step and
in each successful race that is run. He
knows the number of hairs on our
head, the total number hairs on our
whole body, and how may pores,
moles, cardiac cells, and so on. We
are more important than a sparrow, yet
God knows when each one of these
falls from flight. This is the God I know,
the God I love, and the God I depend
upon each day. My God values me in
ways that make me priceless.
To honor God, and the little sparrow
that spoke to me of His presence even
in death, I buried the seemingly
weightless body in cucumber leaves
and gave a prayer as incense to His
Holiness. I marked the grave with a
cross made from sticks because in my
backyard, in Middletown, Ohio, I could
honor God through a selfless act. We
can all do the same, and God notices.
We are not forgotten, we are worth so
very much to God, and can always turn
to Him in prayer in the name of Jesus
Christ. Where we gather, where we fall
on our knees, where we care for
someone unremarkable, we do a
remarkable thing: we remember and
honor our God. This is the working
definition of faith. Be faithful.

it's the right time of the night
For whatever reason the sunsets at the Mason festival are always spectacular. it was just about
perfect! I think that speck of light is a lighter raised skyward to signal that we are about to rock!

God willed that all

the Word.
